Why it works:
It’s all down to energy. Think right now of how it feels when you feel gratitude. Imagine something or somebody in your life that you feel grateful for. It could be a person, a pet, a project. Whatever it is, notice how thinking about it makes you feel.
It’s nice, isn’t it?
That’s your energy. It’s impossible to feel good like this without also feeling like your heart is open, and your energy is expanding. And feeling good, more often than not, regardless of circumstances, is what life is meant to be about.
If you think of the opposite – something, somebody or a situation that drains you, you’ll notice it changes your energy. It’s likely you’ll feel contracted, protective, maybe even want to hide away.
So what kind of energy would you like to feel? It’s a no brainer, really, isn’t it? And practicing gratitude is one of the tools you can use to help you expand that ‘good-feeling’ energy.
